Asian-American Small Business Resources


   

There are a variety of small business resources available that have been developed specifically to help Asian-Americans start and operate small businesses. Asian-American is defined here as anyone living in the United States who has Asian origins. Following are some resources available for Asian-Americans who run or want to run a small business.

America's Top 100 Asian Entrepreneurs
Goldsea, the Asian-American supersite, provides profiles and links to their picks for the top 100 Asian-American entrepreneurs.

Asian American Business Development Center
Provides technical assistance to improve the management skills of Asian American business owners and programs to help businesses and entrepreneurs access potential markets outside the confines of their ethnic communities.

Asian-American Groups Partner with SBA
Short description of Asian-American outreach program that is part of the SBA's initiative to bring more business opportunities to minorities, women and veterans.

Asian American Manufacturing Association
A nonprofit organization of businesses and individuals that promotes manufacturing and related enterprise throughout the Pacific Rim.

Asian American Market in the United States
Due to the rapidly growing Asian American population, more and more industries are beginning to realize the potential business advancements in the Asian American market.

Asian Professional Exchange
A place where young Asian American professionals can explore new career paths and meet peers and leaders who impart insights from their experiences.

Asian Week
The national English-language newsweekly for the Asian Pacific American community with a business section covering news about Asian-American business.

Asian Women in Business
A not-for-profit membership organization to assist Asian women to realize their entrepreneurial potential.

Minority Business Development Agency
Part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, specifically created to encourage the creation, growth and expansion of minority-owned businesses in the United States. MBDA provides access to public/private debt and equity financing, market opportunities, and management and business information; coordinates and leverages public and private resources; and, facilitates strategic alliances.

Minority Programs at the Small Business Administration
The SBA strives to reach those sectors of the population currently underserved by its programs, including ethnic populations, women, veterans, and both urban and rural businesses. They have identified resources that offer opportunities and assistance.

U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce
A non-profit organization, founded that represents Asian and non Asian American businesses and professionals in business, sciences, the arts, sports, education, entertainment, community and public service through advocacy, education, information and networking.
