Public Relations Opportunities

In addition to providing an audience of readers who are looking for information on small business, we offer several advantages as a public relations outlet:

  • Our editorial content is "evergreen"
With a newspaper or magazine, an article has a shelf life of a day, a week, or a month at most. On the Web, articles remain online indefinitely and can be updated quickly.
  • Readers can be linked directly to the website of interest
Our articles normally include links to related websites, so readers can get more information on the spot instead of requesting printed literature by mail or telephone.
  • Articles can be longer, with unlimited graphics and photos
A typical newspaper feature is 500-1,000 words long, with one or at most two photos. On a website an article can be as long as the topic requires, with related articles and photo galleries in many cases.

Topics covered
We write about businesses, business services, and write reviews of products, with an emphasis on "evergreen" rather than time-sensitive features.

Instead of chatty overviews of topics, we provide in-depth resources related to business problems and issues. So, for instance, should a business be looking for information on managing payroll, they will find not only how-tos on what is involved in doing payroll, but also relevant tax information, and suggested software solutions. The goal is to provide the visitor with comprehensive information that will allow them to learn what they need to manage each aspect of their business.

How you can help us (and your clients)
We're interested in working with PR professionals who can supply background information, photos, products, and press trips to help us expand our small business coverage.

We also publish a limited number of press releases. We emphasize stories about major events, new products, etc. rather than deals.)

Where to send press materials and inquiries:
To send press releases by email, or to request offline contact information (phone, fax, and mailing address), contact editor@smallbusinessnotes.com

We look forward to hearing from you!
